This week, it seems as though the British royal family is on a mission to prove they are just like the rest of us. First, the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, went through the anguish that millions of women before her have experienced when she got her high heel stuck in a grate. And now, it appears as though Queen Elizabeth is trying to one-up her by taking public transportation like a true commoner.
On Wednesday, the Queen was spotted at the King’s Lynn train station in Norfolk, England where she boarded a train to head home to London. She had been in the area for the last few weeks, first celebrating the holidays with friends and family at her home in Sandringham and then quietly celebrating the 66th anniversary of her ascension to the throne. As she entered the platform, onlookers appeared to be shocked by the sight of the reigning royal just moseying on by.
