Real Madrid hope to take Gareth Bale beyond Manchester United's reach with a new contract offer.
The Sunday World says reports in Spain suggest that part of the club's fresh contract talks with the superstar involve building in an enormous buy-out clause to make sure even the richest club in England won't have deep enough pockets to make a move.
Bale is reportedly close to signing a new deal that, just like the one penned by team-mate Toni Kroos this week, will keep him at the Bernabeu until 2022.
That would tie the Welsh wizard to the Spanish giants until he turns 33 but a clause in the deal is also reportedly in there to put off potential suitors such as Manchester United. The Red Devils have been linked with a move for Bale since his time at Spurs and as recently as August there was talk of a potential swoop.
However, a staggering €500m buy-out clause is set to be part of a new deal, which would surely be too rich even for Manchester United 's blood.
