Salah confident of world Cup despite injury

Mohamed Salah says he is "confident" he will be fit for this summer’s World Cup with Egypt after suffering injury in Liverpool's Champions League final defeat .

The 25-year-old was forced off with a suspected dislocated shoulder in the first half of Real Madrid's 3-1 victory in Kiev on Saturday night, with initial fears he may miss the tournament in Russia next month.

Salah, who left the stadium with his arm in a sling, is now with the Egyptian national team and he appeared upbeat about his chances in a tweet less that 24 hours after the incident.

"It was a very tough night, but I'm a fighter," he said. "Despite the odds, I'm confident that I'll be in Russia to make you all proud.

Your love and support will give me the strength I need."

Salah was in tears as he was forced off after half an hour, with the score at 0-0, following a challenge from Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.
