Rooney set for DC United medical this week

Wayne Rooney is about to make a switch from the Premier League to the MLS.

According to Sky Sports, the Everton striker will land in Washington on Thursday to have a medical with DC United .

Accompanied by his agent Paul Stretford, the Manchester United legend will discuss a potential deal with DC United 's managing general partner Jason Levien and general manager Dave Kasper.

Rooney and Stretford have reportedly been negotiating a £12m transfer for two weeks and the deal appears imminent.
