Lionel Messi Pushing For Fifth European Golden Shoe

With Barcelona's 5-1 victory over Villarreal saw Lionel Messi score his 34th LaLiga goal of the season, and he's now on course for his fifth European Golden Shoe.

Mohamed Salah has enjoyed a quite wonderful debut season with Liverpool, scoring 31 goals in the Premier League, however it now seems unlikely that he'll catch Barcelona's talisman.

Los Cules still have two more league matches to play this term, whereas the Merseyside club has just one domestic match left in the campaign.

Salah would need to score four goals to completely overtake the La Masia graduate, and that depends on Messi failing to find the net in two successive matches.

Cristiano Ronaldo made a concerted effort to try and rescue his disappointing season with a rise to the Pichichi, however he would now need to score nine goals, and he's likely to miss the remaining domestic matches due to an ankle sprain.
