Rio Ferdinand accused Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko of being 'defensively disgraceful

Rio Ferdinand accused Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko of being 'defensively disgraceful' just minutes before the midfielder's mistake allowed Mohamed Salah to score for Liverpool.

Speaking at half-time, Ferdinand said Bakayoko had
been guilty of leaving Chelsea defenders isolated and even cited his failure to stop goal-scorer Salah as a main concern for Antonio Conte.

Ferdinand told BT Sport at half-time: 'If I was Gary Cahill out there, I'd be screaming at Bakayoko.

Defensively he's been an absolute disgrace today.

'He's doing nothing. He's letting people run off him and he's leaving Gary Cahill isolated.

They're letting the ball be rolled into Salah every time the ball comes in from the right-hand side.'In response, Frank Lampard said: 'He's not affecting anybody going forward, he's not getting tight and he's not protecting Cahill or Alonso.

At the minute he's playing at 50-60 per cent. Sometimes he needs to sprint and put people under pressure.

The comments seemed to preempt Liverpool's opening goal, which occurred when Bakayoko missed what appeared to be a simple interception to allow Salah through to score the opening goal.
