PSG shatter UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE group stage goals record

PSG's fearsome front line of Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe have been on fire in the Champions League this season and on Wednesday they broke the record for the most group stage goals scored... with a game to spare.

The previous record was 21 goals, held by Borussia Dortmund during the 2016-17 season, but PSG surpassed that mark when Marco Verratti netted their fifth of the night against Celtic.

The Parisiens bagged two more in a 7-1 thrashing meaning they have now scored 24 goals in five Champions League group stage matches with the chance to add to their remarkable tally in their final fixture - away at Bayern Munich.

Moussa Dembele's early opener for Celtic was also the first goal they have conceded this campaign. Safe to say it proved a false dawn for Brendan Rodgers' side.
