Mesut Ozil is on the brink of penning a new deal with
Arsenal .
The Sunday Mirror says Ozil's been in brilliant form this
season and the Gunners' hierarchy are confident he will sign
a new £160,000-a-week, five-year deal.
Talks are at an advanced stage and will continue after the
international break, with a club source claiming on Saturday
night, “we are getting closer".
The 28-year-old, who scored a wonder-goal in Tuesday's
3-2 Champions League win over Ludogorets, has less than
two years left on his current deal and boss Arsene Wenger
wants to ensure the Germany international remains at the
Emirates.
The summer arrival of compatriot Shkodran Mustafi from
Valencia has helped the club's cause in persuading him to
extend his stay.
