Manchester United to axe eight players as Jose Mourinho sets sights on Atletico Madrid's Diego Godin

Mourinho is ready to overhaul his squad after an indifferent start to the season.

Manager Jose Mourinho is ready to get rid of up to eight first-team players after an indifferent start to the season.

Memphis Depay, Marcos Rojo and Matteo Darmian are the most likely to leave with the latter two used begrudgingly by Mourinho due to his recent injury crisis at the back.

Despite recently being allowed back to training Bastian Schweinsteiger's days are also numbered along with England internationals Phil Jones and Michael Carrick.

Mourinho has also reportedly set his sights on Diego Godin to solve his defensive problems and is prepared to fork out £30million on the Atletico Madrid defender.
